I know Figo said he would like to end his career with Sporting. But I am not so sure if this will ever happen. I know that sounds mean, biut Figo is such a great player, he can still give so much to a great club. Like Inter. I would LOVE to see him ending his career with the seven on the green and white shirt. That would be a circle coming to an end. I just don´t think it will happen.

Yeah, you are right! BUT:

He should not miss the time to say goodbye to a big club where he stands in focus and is expected to be a superstar. He played a very good last season with Inter and a fantastic world cup! Not many people expected that! I'm happy that he shows his skills on a very high level at his last international tournament (still can't belive that it was really his last Sad ).

Lets see what his second year at inter will bring. He had not so much time to rest this summer. He turns 35 next year and he always said that he won't play so long. That fact makes me wondering, that he still plays (thank god, he does!). So I think after the upcoming season there is a good chance he signes Sporting for one last year... or he reteiers completely. I hope he plays for Sporting..... I definitely know what jersey I buy than Very Happy

Oh don´t get me wrong. I HOPE he will end with Sporting. I really do. It would be the best happy end for such a wonderful career. I mean, he would be the absolute super hero. He can play only 10 mins every game and he would still be the biggest hero Portugal has ever seen. Oh I would soooooo buy that shirt.

Just to make this complete:

I just read, that Figo is expected to go back to Sporting. That does not mean, he has to go there as a player!! It's also possible, that he is something like a chairman or a idol, like Eusebio for Benfica.

Oh that would be cool. Laura took those pics of the Sporting bus when she was in Lisbon. And Figo was still on it. I think he is one of the biggest players Sporting ever had. I think he will go back there after he finished his active career. He always felt close to that club.

Anyone remember the final or the UEFA cup (or what cup was it???) and he went there with Helen? And he was wearing the Sporting scarf and all. He is still connected there for sure.

He is concerned about Sporting, thats for sure. But the people in portugal and all Sporting-Fans where a bit disappointed when he left Madrid and joined Inter. People thought he would come back to Sporting for his last two years as a activ player. In my opinion that have had been really great. But ok... he decided to join Inter.... for what kind of reasons however.... I'm sure it's not about the money, couse he definitely has enough of it. According to the factor comepition Inter is definitely the better choise. The League in Portugal is week if there where no Benfica, Porto and Sporting. I think as a player it was the right step to go to Italy. It made him better as a player. But we will see what happens.... he also said he would love to play in England. But fact is.... in what kind of position is not neccesary but he should do something for Sporting. I'm sure he will!

I think going to Inter last season was important, considering how he was treated at Madrid at the end. He needed to show he is still capable to do a good job for a major team. With Inter he had the chance to play the CL and fight for the top three places.

Sporting would have been the wrong choice right now. His very last year, he can go there. Going from Madrid to Sporting, Luxemburgo would have laughed at his face, as he did before.

Figo is not playing football for the money anymore, I am sure. If it was about the money, he would be plaiyng in Quatar, they wanted him for a lot of money. And he turend them down.

England. In the book "White angels" *highly recommend that one* they say it pretty good. He always said he wants to play there, but that might be a dream. A dream that might never come true. He said it, because he was thinking that Madrid wanted to get rid of him *oh really?* and he said that, because he wanted to jump and not be pushed, as he said it. I think he is okay with not playing in England. He said it, because Man Utd and Liverpool were interested in him. He needed to say something.

Inter was a good move for him. And he always said he is a father and a husband now, he has to think about more than just him. Helen is a model, Milan is perfect. Rui Costa was there, he helped him finding a school for his kids. They seem pretty happy there. Not only football wise.

I will join you! I will go and see that game. Nothing will stop me. Rui Costa and Luis Figo. The 10# and the 7# of the golden Generation, fullfilling a circle and bringing it to an end. Like an old promise kept.

I won't see anything of that game (hopefully it really comes true one day) because of the tears of happyness in my eyes.
